OUR PROJECTS

For our first year we have planned to continue to develop established activities such as the guided walks, self-guides walks and litter. We have also added two new projects; snorkel trails and dark skies. We are looking forward to exploring the opportunies these projects will provide.

The Outdoor Rangers Service only has an initial year of funding so a very important part of the work will be looking at future funding and ways in which the service can support itself. We are also looking forward to working in partnership with other organisation such as Clean Coast Outer Hebrides, Outer Hebrides Wildlife Festival and other organisations with similar aims.

Marine Litter

Organisation and coordination of volunteer effort for shoreline cleanups and related activities.

Big Clean

Organisation and coordination of concentrated volunteer effort for community cleanups.

Walks & Events

Organisation of guided walks and the maintenance and development of self-guided walks.

Information & Resources

Compile information about the outdoor environment to help inform people.

Have weekly information sessions in the summer to answer questions from visitors and residents. (BUTTON DISABLED)

Barra & Vatersay Dark Skies

Feasibility of Dark Skies activities and sites on Barra & Vatersay. This project is planned from Autumn 25. (BUTTON DISABLED)
